Crittall-style home office screens
A Crittall-style home office screen is a glazed enclosure, usually two or three sides with a door, that creates a separate study inside a larger room. It gives you a door to close for calls without building a dark box.

Why people choose home office screens
If there is no spare bedroom, the corner of a living room or a wide landing can become an office. Glazing it keeps the room feeling as big as before. Acoustic laminated glass and door seals make a real difference to how much of the household you hear on a video call.
Where it works
- The corner of an open-plan living room
- The end of a wide landing
- Inside a garden room or extension
- A loft space at the top of the stairs
How much does it cost?
As a guide, home office screens cost £7,250 to £14,900 for a typical size, fitted and including VAT. Steel-look aluminium sits at the lower end and solid steel at the upper end. Size, bar pattern, glass and doors make the difference. Use the design and price tool for your own size, or read the full cost guide.

Questions about home office screens
How much sound does a glazed office block?
With acoustic laminated glass and sealed doors, normal conversation next door is reduced to a murmur. It will not match a solid insulated wall, but it is a big improvement on an open room.
Does a glass office get too hot?
Inside a heated house, no more than the room it sits in. If it sits under a roof light, we can suggest solar-control glass for that pane.
Can I take it with me if I move?
Screens are fixed into the building, so they normally stay. They are usually seen as an asset by buyers.
